چکیده
The accurate prediction of helicopter rotor blade–vortex interaction (BVI) noise is challenging. This paper presents an implementation the seventh-order improved weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO-Z) scheme for predicting BVI using a high-resolution numerical method based on Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes and Ffowcs Williams–Hawkings equations. WENO-Z utilized to minimize inherent dissipation reconstruction in monotone upstream-centered conservation laws (MUSCL), thereby improving wake resolution noise-prediction accuracy. three-layer dummy cell used ensure that flux at boundary maintains effectiveness flow solver acoustic validated Helishape-7A UH-1H rotor, respectively. field characteristics OLS obtained from fifth- schemes are compared with third-order MUSCL coarse fine background grids. resolution, accuracy, computational cost three compared. results show high-order WENO provides higher accuracy simulation than MUSCL, but increases substantially as grid increases. However, can predict coarser MUSCL. relatively low under same resolution.

An Efficient and Robust Method for Predicting Helicopter Rotor High-speed Impulsive Noise
A new formulation for the Ffowcs Williams{ Hawkings quadrupole source, which is valid for a fareld in-plane observer, is presented. The fareld approximation is new and unique in that no further approximation of the quadrupole source strength is made and integrands with r 2 and r 3 dependence are retained. This paper focuses on the development of a retarded-time formulation in which time derivat...
متن کاملImproved Seventh-Order WENO Scheme
In this paper, an improved seventh-order WENO (WENO-Z7) scheme is suggested by extending the 5th-order WENO scheme of Borges et al[R. Borges, M. Carmona, B. Costa, W. S. Don, An improved weighted essentially non-oscillatory scheme for hyperbolic conservation laws, J. Comput. Phys. 227(2008) 3191-3211]. The sufficient condition for seventh-order accuracy is described for the new smoothness indic...
متن کاملSimulation of Hypersonic Shock Wave/Boundary Layer Interaction Using High Order WENO Scheme
This paper investigates the accuracy and robustness of high order WENO schemes for predicting hypersonic shock wave/boundary layer interaction. The implicit time marching method with unfactored Gauss-Seidel line relaxation is used with a 5th order WENO finite difference scheme for inviscid fluxes. The viscous terms are discretized using a 4th order conservative central differencing. Numerical r...
متن کاملHigh-order WENO scheme for Polymerization-type equations
Polymerization of proteins is a biochemical process involved in different diseases. Mathematically, it is generally modeled by aggregation-fragmentation-type equations. In this paper we consider a general polymerization model and propose a high-order numerical scheme to investigate the behavior of the solution. An important property of the equation is the mass conservation. The fifth-order WENO...
متن کاملE-CUSP scheme for the equations of ideal magnetohydrodynamics with high order WENO Scheme
An E-CUSP (energy-convective upwind and split pressure) scheme is developed to solve the equations of magnetohydrodynamics. Fifth order WENO reconstructions are employed to calculate the fluxes in order to achieve high order spacial accuracy. A characteristic speed of sound by averaging the fast wave speed and the acoustic speed of sound is suggested to evaluate the Mach number, which will yiel...
